Polygamy and Mormonism are historically connected and I as I am learning, in the future of every believing Mormon. I asked my Mormon daughter what she thought about the fact that her husband would have several wives in celestial heaven. Her response suprised me! She said I don't care about that 'cause I'll be dead!
So my thought is this...she doesn't believe in the afterlife. How could she and not care? According to her belief she must baptize me and all the family so we will all be together in heaven but she doesn't care if her husband suddenly acquires his own little harem.
Well, maybe there is hope for her after all.

Polygamy is actually widely practiced in many cultures. Polynesian women usually have more than one wife, and ancient emperors can have as many as hundreds of wives. So......its not only a mormon thing.

No of course not. The book I am reading now "God's Brothel" actually documents polygamous groups who claim to be christians.
I don't have a problem with polygamy among consenting adults, however, children under 18 should not be fair game to old men who want to procreate their way to heaven. In addition, when these women and their hordes of children, usually one per year, rely oo n the welfare system to survive, I take issue.
My point here is just that I think it odd that my daughter, a faithful mormon, made such a statement.
I don't know, maybe she's just making fun of you as an atheist?
With regards to the afterlife, I do wonder how it is like if we all get to live forever, where everything remains unchanged. I mean, that's like the conservative's version of heaven, where everything stays at a sort of a stasis and nothing ever changes.
An eternity with no porn and no hot monkey sex. Plus lots of gay angels and altarboys. Yes.......that is heaven, if you are a catholic priest!!!

Beast, you are such a bad boy!
Lol.
Speaking of bad boy, where's the resident moron?
Beast FCD
Is it possible that he knows we are hopeless?
Nah, more likely he is wanking himself while thinking about jebus (I always thought male Christians were closet gays).

Erm, Rick, allow me to let you on a little secret: I love beautiful women. Porn stars like jenna Jameson are some of my pet favorites. Of course, there is hugh hefner's playboy models....
If I am ever said I was gay, it must be because ugly christian chicks like ann coulter tried to con me into boning their bony ass.....you know what I mean?

That's weird. I always like to hear a religious perspective, as I wasn't raised religiously... I wonder what the actual reasoning is?
In the mormon belief families are for life, that is IF they are all baptized and sealed together for eternity. You can get a lot of info from the mrm.org site. They really have a good perspective on the mormon stuff in comparison to christian belief.
I just thought I would wish all you God Haters A Happy April Fools day for all you fools, Have a safe and happy Holiday. Rick b
