Children and God

I recently started a new job. Although I have worked with children in the recent past, my exposure to them was limited to 30-45 minutes a week. Now I have the total responsibility of 17 little darlings all day long, 5 days a week. I don't know what I was thinking!

All that aside, I recently over heard several students in a heated argument about the orgin of man...MAN...not mankind. Now please keep in mind that these students are 8 years old.

A very snappy little girl said, " I don't care if god did make the man first, he saved the best for last ."

Then a rather indignant young man retorted, "Well, you still have to do what we say because you are made with one of our ribs."

An then the conversation starter, " You're both wrong because people were born from monkeys and that makes us all equal."

Of course, the bell rang and I had to put a stop to the dialog but oh how enlightening to find that at least one of my students has been exposed to reality.

COURT SETS ATHEISTS HOLIDAY

Have you heard about this case? Great answer from the judge!

In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter
and
Passover holidays He decided to contact his lawyer about the
discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations
afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists
had no holiday to celebrate.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long
passionate presentation by the lawyer, th e Judge banged his gavel and
declared, 'Case dismissed!'

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, 'Your
honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have
Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom
Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such
holiday!'

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, 'Obviously your
client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own
atheists' holiday!'

The lawyer pompously said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such
holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?'

The judge said, 'Well it comes every year on exactly the same
date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools
Day,'
consider that Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in h i s heart, there is
no
God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by
scripture , he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday! Now have a good
day and get out of my courtroom!!

Way to go, Judge!
AMEN

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that
whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 KJV

"Who's the fool that calls another a fool?" -Larro @ Ungodly Cynic

Quite the contrary Anonymous. Atheist need no holiday. For what does the root meaning of the word define? Holy day.

Something holy. A day of worship. Atheists don't worship or bow down to anything in order that they be "graced" with some kind of reward by a superfluous, imaginary being.

To be in "awe" of a god is to accept that you are inferior and are willing to bend down and take the lash. To be enslaved by an ideological doctrine that's patently false. THAT is the fool.

Why do religious people come here to quote scripture? Why not be at least a little curious and go a little further by maybe asking questions or just say something that's original?
Sorry Interested. :)

If your talking about me, then all I can say is, I cannot save you, all I can do is give you info and you do what ever you want with that.

Then as fas as Tina saying, Why do people have to post as anonymous?

You can do two things, set up your blog so no one can ever post under Anonymous, or set it up to Moderate all posts, so you allow what you want on, that is how my blog is set up.

Now as far as only allowing Bloggers to post, people can still post Anonymously by creating a fake name and having a blogger profile, but no blog. So do what you want with this info.

Then since your Assuming someone is/was trying to save you with that Atheist holiday blog, I guess from what I read, I saw it as a joke and no info given in any manner to try and "save" you. In other words, it was not giving any sort of Gospel or salvation message. Rick b

Origin of the Human Race

A little girl asked her Christian mother, "How did the human race come about?"
The mother answered: "God made Adam and Eve and they
had children and so all mankind was made."
Two days later she asks her Atheist father the same question.
The father answered: "Many years ago there were monkeys, and we
developed from them."
The confused girl returns to her mother and says: "Mom,
how is it possible that you told me that the human race was
created by God and Papa says we developed from monkeys?"
The mother answers: "Well dear, it is very simple.
I told you about the origin of my side of the family, and your father
told you about his side."

I love the old we evolved from monkeys argument that thumpers use to misrepresent evolution. Here is a good idea, pick up a science book.

And if you are really going to quote scripture then I like to do the same;
Leviticus 25:44-45
Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property.

How uplifting that book is.
